Pros: That they required my car insurance. I dont know my policy off the top of my head. I would have prepared that if i was informed. did not see that.

Cons: The shuttle did not have working seat belts and last I checked that’s against the law. The shuttle of 15-20 min is too spaced out. You need every 10-15 min to make it worth the wait. It’s also clear you do not value your employees and the hard work that they provide. There are corners being cut and it makes it unsafe for them and especially us as a customer as well. It’s a good concept just be clear you are not going to fix anything that is broken within a timely fashion.

Pros: when I called to front desk and inquiry about the shuttle services, the lady is not friendly and have attidude. I arrived at 7am, and not sure whether I need to call to their desk and request a shuttle as it is so early in the morning. she was rude to answer that shuttle bus is there . If I don’t see it, I just need to wait for it. i did told her that I’m not sure I need to make a request for shuttle bus as it is early in the morning when I called.
Cons: THe parking lot very crowded and busy. I also realize the attendants at cus svc desk are busy and deal with a lot of people, however, I felt the phrase: "you get what you pay for" come to mind over and over when I walked in. They came off as abrasive and almost rude. They yelled at everyone to make sure they had stuff out and ready to go. I'm sorry, but who is the customer here? There is no need for that kind of treatment.

As it happens, I got a flat tire while driving the rental car, and since there was no spare I had to pay a tow truck to tow my car to the rental place. So, whatever money I saved on the rental, I ended up paying for the tow truck and the replacement of the flat tire.
Pros: Normally I rate Routes a perfect score of 10. This time it was horrible including a Jeep that had tape and marker still on the vehicle and navigation that was disfunctional and not repaired. They informed me of the wrong place to wait to be picked up. I only got someone to respond on my fourth call.
Cons: They offered I could drive all the way back and switch out the vehicle which was not of interest or possible on a Friday afternoon in traffic. When I returned the vehicle they were not concerned to hear what had gone wrong. I will not be renting from them again.

Cons: If requiring an outbound flight in order to rent from this company s so important to them, both you and them are responsible for making sure the client has all appropriate information with them when picking up the car. I checked multiple times what was required of me, even calling twice that same day and speaking with a rep. Not once was I reminded/encouraged that I would need an outbound flight number to complete the reservation.

After arriving, the rep in the facility was on the phone and did not acknowledge me when I was standing in front of him for more than 3 minutes. I was very disappointed in the professionalism and overall courtesy of the service and will not ever rent from Routes again.

Pros: The week I was traveling the car prices were nuts! I took a gamble on using discover car hire. It was over 100 less than all others so I was nervous and expected problems. But I was wrong. It was a great experience. Even the van that took me to the location was quick. I will book again.

It would be best to give customers vehicles with at least half a tank of gas, especially when renting in the wee hours of the morning. Also, toll fees recommended were unnecessary. Unlikely to rent from this company in the future.

Refused to proceed with our rental reservation -- forcing us to make a last minute reservation with another company at astronomical prices. I am still very very upset by this company and cannot believe how UNCLEAR this policy was at the time of booking and the POOR behavior of the customer service rep.

Cons: The staff lied to me about the insurance and forced me to buy extra even though I already paid for insurance with my booking. Plus my credit card covers car rentals. The Routes guy said all of it was insufficient for Illinois law and forced me to get coverage from Routes in order to get my car. However, I booked a car with a competing rental car co. for the rest of my stay in Illinois and didn't have to pay for any insurance. So the Routes staff lied to me, which is why I won't use you again.

The agent at the front desk tried very hard to make me pay the underage fee (additional $20 each day) even though I am 25 years old. I wasted 10-15 minutes looking up the info on the Routes website to prove to her that I don't need to pay this fee. And then she said it actually depends on the website through which I booked the car (what the hell?). So I showed her on that website as well, and finally she gave in. Ugh.

Cons: the wait for the pick-up, the complete sour attitude of the attendant that could be heard by everyone in line (complaining a customer wanted to see the car they were renting first and holding up the line-for one example ), and the crazy driving of the person who picked us up to take us to the office. Also, the confirmation email clearly states we are to call upon arrival. I did and seemed to be bothering the person at the other end, as did those who were doing the same thing as I stood in line.
Pros: The representatives were clearly overworked and under stress during the two times I was there. They were doing the best they could under less than optimal conditions (understaffed, inefficient procedures and irritable clientele.). The price was very reasonable though, so for people willing to put up with the hassle, it might be worth it. The vehicle was comfortable and roomy. The shuttle drivers were courteous and helpful.
Cons: Never in my life have I had to wait in line to return my vehicle. When trying to catch a flight, this process puts undue stress on passengers. The entire pick up and drop off process needs an overhaul to make it efficient. The vehicle was dirty when I received it, a white car with brown smudges all over the outside from the prior renter that didn’t come off in the car wash.
Pros: Absolutely nothing! I have never received such horrible customer service.
Cons: There was only 1 person working constantly at the counter and not sure what the other 2 people were doing. The line of customers to pick up their cars was out the door after we got there. We had 4 people in front of us and it took almost 2 FULL HOURS to get our car. On top of that we did not get the car that we had reserved. Every customer was frustrated and the workers there were not helpful. This has shattered any confidence in renting from a small company which I will never do again.
Pros: Friendly, cooperative, efficient, easy to work with.
Cons: At the time, the only available vehicle type was a Jeep Wrangler, which I really did not want, but was stuck with.

Cons: they seemed understaffed. the place also offers airport parking and it took a long time for people to check back in with car.

Pros: The agents were doing the best they could, but the system of renting and returning was horrible and I'm sure many people missed their flights because of it.
Cons: The car looked like it had been in a collision, was dirty and greasy on the inside, service to pick it up was painfully slow, the shuttle from the airport took ONE HOUR to pick me up then nearly made me wait because I was traveling with a bicycle, the agency was VERY far from the airport... I could go on and on...
Cons: Long wait for the shuttle, for picking up the car for dropping the car. Everything is a long wait.

Pros: 1. Freshly washed from outside.
Cons: 1. It took 1&1/2 to pick up my auto 2. They would not accept my auto insurance verbally. They wanted a copy of it. They charged me extra. They would not accept copy after the fact. 3. Auto was dirty from inside. 4. I was handed Auto on empty tank of gas. 5. I returned Auto a day ahead. No credit was offered.
Cons: It took a while for the shuttle to pick us up from the airport after the car rental representative told us where to wait for pickup. Shuttle drove right past us. We had to call rep back and have shuttle turn around to come get us.
Pros: Friendly staff, nice, clean vehicle.
Cons: There were lots of staff but it seemed only a couple were there to wait on customers, especially if renting a car. The wait on the return was over 30 minutes and I as the first person in line...
Pros: The car worked fine. I had no concerns about the vehicle itself.
Cons: It felt a little disorganized when I went to pick up my car. It took longer than I expected. In the past, dropping off a car was usually really fast. Here, I had to get back on line with all of the people picking up cars.

Pros: Transportation to airport came quickly. Agents were friendly and helpful in spite of the fact that the desk was under staffed.
