Maze Car Rental at Malta Airport

Pros: The price

Cons: everything else. The attitude of the staff horrendous.

Pros: Nothing apart from a quick drop off.

Cons: I had to pay £40+ for a rep to attend the airport to handover the car. He wasn't there and another company dealt with it from their fully staffed office. Why the £40 charge, nobody could tell me. The car was a wreck, no way to lock the car or boot, unable to get into the boot to put cases in. The rear bumper was broken and held on by the fact the boot was holding it on, dents and scrapes all over the car, at midnight when we arrived it took until 0230 until we actually drove away with the car.

Pros: Very poor service.

Cons: Nothing!!!!! Never again!!!!!

Pros: Value for money and the quick turnaround when I returned the car to the airport at the end of the rental period.

Cons: The rental desk was very difficult to find within the airport, and I had to wait for at least an hour to be served by the one and only member of staff working in the office!

Cons: Slow service. Wrong size car provided, which had very little clutch left.

Cons: Hard to find the representative at Malta Airport, and the picking up process took some time.

Cons: No signs and wrong info on paperwork about pick up system at the airport, had to phone twice to find office/desk which was upstairs . Agent held 1300 euro deposit on credit card not 1100 as on email. On picking up the car agent couldnt find the key waited 30 mins for them to locate car and key ,Car was old and had damaged all over (25 pictures were emailed of damage on picking up). return system easy .

Pros: Nothing. Worse car rental company in te world. It’s a mafia.

Cons: We had a terrible experience with this car company. On the last day someone broke our rear light and strangely when we did the check out at 6am the gentleman that check out our car had received a text message advising that the light was broken. This is very suspicious and we question why someone would go to our road and ‘check’ the car the night before check out? Long story short we were charged £800 for a broken light even after we were told only £500 were going to be billed...

Pros: No representative at the arrival gate. No phone number active (2 provided both out of service) 1 hour lost before finding the desk that was closed and another 30 minutes before finding someone helpful.

Cons: Car not ready, they provide a brand new car after waiting 2 hours at the car rental parking (34°C ) with a 3years old baby.

Pros: Digitised through whatsapp communication. The people seemed helpful when called upon

Cons: It wasn't clear where the desk was, and we stood in a few queues before getting to the right place. The car was a shambles. Missing 3 hub caps, scratches all over, one wing mirror smashed and the other unable to move, given on empty petrol so needed to find station, no air con. Broke on the first day of any serious driving with no water in the coolant reservoir. It cost us hours of waiting to exchange for a new car.

Cons: The car was battered, smelt of cigarette smoke and didn’t run well. Mazes vendor choice prioritised their clients over others

Pros: nothing, intend to complain, 3 hour delay as not met at airport as promised, no communication and provided with Citroen C1 not ford fiesta so breached contract. Terrible customer service, avoid at all costs as Goldcar masquerading as Maze. A blight on Discovery Car Hire

Cons: they are Goldcar that get terrible reviews, lied about meeting at airport and provided a smaller car that was not good for Malta's roads, completely breaching the contract. At midnight having waited for 3 hours felt little choice but to take the Citroen C1 stressed and with a pounding headache.

Cons: In line for over an hour before it was our turn. Maze wasn’t visible anywhere and under goldcar which wasn’t anywhere on my documents.

Cons: Lights didn't work. Rep wouldn't do anything about it. Ripped off on damaged mirror.

Pros: Dropping the car off was easy.

Cons: There was no one waiting for us in the arrivals hall although it was clearly stated on the booking confirmation. We went to the tourist information booth, where we were told that Maze Car Rental is actually Gold Car Rental. We went to their booth and the woman there had never heard of Maze. As we were about to leave her colleague said that they actually are Maze although there were no signs showing that.

Pros: Nothing. Goldcar are a total scam merchant.

Cons: Again Goldcar. Non uniformed staff. No copy of initial damage report given. Damage "found" on return that could not have happened during the car rental due to private locked driveway being used. Attendant aggressive and stated "sure just let your insurance sort it" €711 down due to having to use a company known for being total scam artists.

Cons: no booth at the airport, car smelt, and when returning the car they kept finding minor issues that was there before we accepted the vehicle

Pros: The car l ordered was not available so replaced fairly quickly.

Cons: My instructions stated l would be met in arrivals hall with name board, however l was left standing with my disabled wife, after speaking to several other car hire desks l eventually found yours. My allocated vehicle was drivable but had been gm a accident, bonnet wouldn't close completely, there was damage to each wheel, wing mirror, bonnet, front grill and number plates etc. If l had took the young man's word car was fine at 2am in the am after our long journey ! !

Cons: I had to pay the ridiculous amount of insurance £160 (more than the car hire) because I was not allowed to pay 1200 euros on a debit card, had to be credit card. I covered myself at home before I left for £12.50 !!!. Very stressful time of waiting a long time in a queue and then a £160 hit ! I think I should have compensation. I bought through Maze, no where to be seen until you hunted down that it was gold car. Lee Bushnell

Pros: Efficient servise at the GoldCar desk. Efficient car delivery and return (night) at the parking lot.

Cons: No indication in the order or at the airport that i should turn to the GoldCar desk has caused me wasting a lot of time to find it by the tourists information desk (No sign of Maze Car Rental nor it persinnel has been waiting).

Cons: Maze did not have a desk at the airport and failed to meet us as advised. We had to deal with Gold Car a company we wouldn’t have used voluntarily after reading their reviews. Do Maze exist or are they a front for Gold Car?

Pros: Really liked the car.

Cons: The picking up arrangements on the voucher did not apply e.g. I was told to wait at arrivals for someone to come. Nobody came. I eventually phoned the Maltese number and was told to go to Gold office. I also didn't like that the phone numbers provided for use whilst on the island didn't work. Wanted to let Maze know that I would be dropping off the car a little earlier but the number was permanently switched off.

Pros: The car was brand new.

Cons: Completely different processes to booking confirmation.
