Easirent at Dublin Airport

Pros: Muhammad did an excellent job backing up our vehicle so we could leave when someone had double parked behind us.

Cons: I didn’t like that the company offered a “Ford Galaxy or equivalent” when they knew no such vehicle was available. If we had been told, we would have brought less luggage. As it was, my daughter had a bag in her lap for hours and hours as we drove around Ireland.

Cons: Finding the pick up point as I didn’t have a SIM card in Ireland. I couldn’t make a call to be picked up. Sign on van said Easirent but I was looking for discover cars won I rented from.

Cons: 1. Easirent informed us during pick-up that the €2800 refundable deposit stated in the document provided by discovercars.com was incorrect and should have been €3500!! 2. We learnt during pick-up that we could opt to pay an additional fee of about €80 if we did not eant to pay €3500 deposit. Would be best if this was stated in the ticket provided by discovercars early 3. The Volvo V60 we booked was not available. Since “or similar” was stated in the offer page, we were offered a Sangyong!!

Cons: When I picked up the car the employee just sent me off. I asked to see the damage report as the car was covered in scratches. There were no scratches on the damage report. He added 3 and said it’ll be fine. I drove the car twice and it was left in a v safe place. When I got back they told me there was damage to the tire and I had to pay for it. The car was in poor condition, oil light on, service light on, rattling a bit - clearly used a lot. I didn’t damage anything on that car. Classic scam.

Cons: I had ordered GPS but it wasn't provided so I had to rely on my mobile map app. I also had to deal with tyre pressure warnings three separate times. Finally, the radio in the car is not intuitive so some instructions would have been helpful. It can only be accessed with controls on/around the steering wheel.

Cons: Impossible to find “zone 18” at the airport. Shuttle to car rental dirty and driver rude. Offices in a very run down location. Toilet was foul - dirty and there was half eaten food and rubbish stacked up. Had to pay more money at the rental office when we got there in order to not have to leave a £2900 deposit which we felt very uneasy to do as the whole operation felt incredibly dodgy. Dropped the car back early to get rid of it asap and so we didn’t have to use the shuttle, used taxi.

Pros: The quality of the car was excellent and the price was affordable

Cons: Only a slight inconvenience that they are located off site if you are in a massive rush but they are just outside the airport and the shuttle service was quick and easy. You phone the office when you’ve landed and they’ll give you a meeting point. The benefit is that it is a small office and there is no searching for your car in a large car park once you’ve checked in. There is a gas station just 50m away which is convenient.

Cons: I didn’t like that when I booked the car online I wasn’t told about the one of two insurance options that I was told were MANDATORY. One option was $370 and the other was $430. Then when I dropped the car off they tried to pin a busted hubcap on me, and when I asked if they had taken before pictures they said yes and then wouldn’t show me. I chose Easirent because it seemed cost effective, then I was conned into spending 3x what I had expected.

That took us from a total of quoted 228 euro to 361 euro. Please quote that so the buyer is aware. We ordered a station wagon because it said it fit 5 bags. We got a kia SUV that did not fit all of our luggage in the back. One suitcase had to be put in the backseat for the 5 hour drive. Quite uncomfortable.

Cons: The car was dirty with stains all over it, the windshield wipers were falling off and did not work and it rained every day, so we could not see out of the windshield. The brake pedal rubber was gone and so the brake slipped easily with wet shoes. The van was the cheapest most basic model possible, which didn't even have a way to adjust mirrors without pushing by hand. We wasted over 3hrs trying to pick up the car and waiting for it to arrive at our location because it wasn't ready.

Cons: We thought we were getting a slightly bigger van, but it was basically a smaller 7 seater vehicle. Had to remove the back 2 seats in order to fit 4 golf bags and luggage.

When we asked to the Easirent personnel to receive the missing equipment he said that it was not necessary, that the irish rules don't oblige to have it available and even other rental companies don't make available this equipment. No words to comment this serious disservice that put us in a risky situation in case of accident or check by the police as well as no words for the reply to our legitimate claim

Seems like the maps on the navigation need to be updated and the computer seemed to have. Kind of it’s own. Overall the car was fine.

Overall the car did cost me more than with a better rated other company.

This meant that large numbers of people were stood at the desk finding/filling out paper (that I have never had to do with other companies. Such as a DVLA check code?!). The most bizarre thing is that they charge you a non negotiable 10€ admin fee to go through a 2€ toll!!!! Would not recommend!!!!

Cons: Time spent trying to get the car, hidden costs and requirements that should’ve been more clearly stated in a rental email sent BEFORE arrival so one can be prepared. It took nearly an HOUR to get picked up at the airport. I waited in the van for 20 minutes to get back to the airport. Shuttle service very inefficient and wasted my time.

Cons: They have 1 minivan to pick up people at the airport. the pickup spot is 200 yards from the terminal and is poorly marked by the airport. They have 1 van and it took an hour to get a pickup and we apparently jumped in line ahead of people waiting 30 minutes longer without knowing. The trailer setup looks like something out of Deliverance and I expected Irish banjo's to start playing. We rented an Audi wagon and got some sort of Korean Ssaapang SUV that while ok, was not what we paid for.

Cons: Tried to upsell me their extended insurance, at a cost of Euro 384 even tho I paid for the excess insurance on booking. They didn't tell me about a known faulty sensor that had the oil warning light on and I had to double back to the depot after I left, at 10pm off a 30 hour trip, Also they didn't tell me, until I commented that the tank was only 1/2 full, that it was like-for-like on the fuel - booking site said out full, back full. Otherwise quite happy with them, would book again

Cons: Easirent forced us to pay for insurance through only accepting a credit card with the main driver's name to pay a deposit. The people at the desk refused to give any flexibility. The pick up from the airport was difficult to find and the driver made us wait 20 minutes even though he was just waiting a few meters away. The tank level was changed from full tank on the booking to 1/4 tank at collection.

Pros: They cancelled my car without notification since my flight was delayed for more than 2 hours and couldn’t make any alternate arrangements that left me stranded at airport at midnight.

After several minutes of arguing he managed to get the additional driver for the price which I had booked. The car was new but had no insurance discs displayed. This is illegal and could have gotten me into serious trouble with police.

I had a flight delay, was unable to contact them as it was not within business hours, so they cancelled me and rented my reserved car. I needed an automatic and they had none left by the time I arrived In Ireland. I had to go with hertz for a rental, which cost me a lot of extra money. The agency has not refunded my deposit. The agency is also not at the airport and requires a shuttle to reach. I would avoid.

We have hired cars all over the world, including Ireland multiple times. and have not had this issue with anyone else.

Cons: I ordered an automatic and when I arrived at 10.30 Friday night the man said he didnt have one. Then said he had one but it was dirty and radio didnt work. All the lights were on on the dashboard or the car, I asked what they were for....they said it would be fine. I was asked to provide 2 proof of addresses....which wasnt mentioned when I booked it....and made the process so much longer. The man was nice, but I would not book here again. It seemed all over the place.

It took nearly an hour to finally be served when I got to the car hire premises even though I had filled our all the documentation previously for a quick pick up. Car was new but we had to wait for someone to vacuum out the vehicle. Vehicle was not full of petrol and had only 48km range. Essentially this provider needs more staff and they need retraining.
