Cons: Worst car we rented by far. We knew it was an old car, no problem with that. But loose breaks, engine that consumes 11l/100km so clearly engine problem, wipers Mailfunctioning, no lights on dashboard, cord of trunk broken

Cons: The car i got was somewhat old (150 000 km) The was no cruise-control. They are very strict with fuel refilling when you return the car but the car they gave me was not full (3/4). When i told them they gave me another car

Cons: The car was dirty , cob webs on outside mirrors, had to scrap off (move) written on windshield, sticky substance in cup holders. I think we gave back the car cleaner than we got it. Mechanical had front end noise, and steering vibration over 100kph

Cons: It's a "get what you pay for" service. The reason the cars are a bargain is because they aren't new and have some condition issues. Our car WAS reliable and serviceable, but it was also 15 years old and showed it. You want to rent new car, this isn't your place. You want a good deal on a car that will get you there, this'll do.

Just wish the rentals were true to purchase or else I’d be happy to pay more to get the car I want specifically.

Pros: The car was in a bad state. It had duct tape holding some panels together. A hole had been drilled and a cable tie used on another panel to hold it on. On day 2 the battery in the back seat cane flying out. It had not been clamped in place and the plastic cover was missing all the clips to secure it. We were forced to buy some cable ties to try to teporarily fix this!The car had not been cleaned properly. There were what looked like corn chip crumbs inside it amongst other things

Our reason for believing this is because the lady at reception made reference to this on 3 or more occasions, and made it quite obvious that she was not impressed.

The key only unlocked the car from very close range, and every time you started the car it gave a message in Japanese which I don’t understand, and the steering was horrible, and it was very awkward to get car to cruise at a steady pace.

While on the phone with Bargain Rental Car agent, he seemed to confirm that I was standing in the correct location immediately outside airport. The agent was patient and courteous, but would have been helpful if he had clearly stated to walk to the pick-up location after exiting airport.

Cons: The first car we were offered was basically undriveable and was falling apart. The second was all in Japanese so had no way to navigate the dashboard.

Cons: There was a lot of cosmetic damage to this vehicle, including the bumpers being riveted on, and not 100% secured at that. Part of the back bumper was not actually flush where riveted and was sticking out slightly. If that was the only issue, oh well. But with speedometer and gas gague issues as well as brake issues, this car did not feel safe. I didn't bother saying anything as the speedometer issue was ignore by staff when brought up, they didn't seem to care it wasn't working.

Cons: Major confusion at the pick up at the Akl Airport. The information provided was wrong and the transfer vehicle was not the correct one so had to wait 2 hours to finally get a ride to the Flyway depot and then there was no vehicle there to pick up. Staff then had to arrange for another shuttle to come and pick us up and then deliver us to where we should have been to start with. Poor communications and when we tried to call ask where were they the message bank is full and you cant leave a message

The car rental place helped me get to the right place and chased me about really as I was giving wrong places. They were so good and understanding. Pros: They were down to earth. They were able to supply my car early as I had altered the date I flew into NZ but had forgotten to change the date I'd booked the rental car from. Thankfully the car was ready, so I could take it a day earlier.

Cons: The key was broken and had no remote locking device on it. The tag was cello taped to what remained of the key and this snapped on the first day I rented the car. It looked pretty tacky.

Cons: I was left stranded at Auckland International Airport after waiting for over 3 hours. I made over 30 calls for a shuttle to collect me and I finally got through to the call centre only to be told my booking had been cancelled. I had to find alternative accommodation and then return the next day to try and collect a car. I have been charged the full rental price for a 12 day hire which is very unfair given the error wasn’t my fault. I have emails to confirm that the booking wasn’t cancelled.

Cons: Had problems with the car. Took too long in my opinion before I could get back on the road. They first had a proposal to pick us up with a truck and then drive for 6 hours to the next town. Then we would have been stuck for one full day. After much insistence we got another rental car. After all, we were already in a big city.

Cons: We ordered a touring car but got a car similar when I could’ve ordered a normal car and got the same one wasn’t happy with the service provided by bargain rental cars

Cons: Was told fuel gauge faulty and tank showing three quarters full and noted on file, however when we filled on return it showed full on gauge so we did not get a full tank to start with. No paperwork issued to us when car dropped off as whisked away in grander vehicle as soon as we arrived (said did not have time for photos to be taken by other staff member who was taking photos of another car).

Cons: Car radio didn’t work. The engine light came on after the 2nd day driving it. The receptionist took a very long time to get the car sorted for us to take.

Pros: Pretty rough. Lots of rattles on the open road and a leak from something in the engine that kept the passenger side carpet soaked therefore making the car smell. Also meant nothing could go on the floor. No radio again, twice now the radio was not working.

Cons: We were charged for not filling up the car on return which we did we spoke to someone in call center to get this refunded with a few more calls we finally got our money back but we had to chase for this to happen, also we never got a callback from the manager when we asked for one. Unfortunately with this happening we will not be renting another car from you which is a shame as collecting the car and return of it was really good.

Cons: Expected Suzuki Swift but got Mazda demio which turned out to be more useful to us than the Swift. Car was economical. 471km for half a tank. Pick up customer service ok - attendant was not well and was short and rushed. Drop off customer service ok - attendants weren't interested in talking. I got annoyed at being charged a refuel charge when the tank was *just under* full.

Pros: We had a minor "accident" part way through our hire, involving a "reversing collision" between us and another car. BRC people were quite helpful in the advice they gave as to the procedure we needed to follow after we reported the incident. On the other hand, when we dropped off the car and needed to complete paper work about the incident, the BRC staff that day (a Saturday) were junior staff with very poor English language ability, and not able to answer our questions authoritatively.

Pros: We had a really bad experience but the staff did all they could to help us. They changed the car for us and give us a complimentary gps

Cons: Had to change car 3 times in two days. 1st car was 17 year old Japanese import that did not feel safe. Second car again a 25 year old Japanese import that got an engine light after 40k. Third car was about 4 year old mor reliable but had had a number of collisions so was a bit battered.

Cons: Appalling service. I had booked an automatic vehicle, but I went to pick up the car from the secondary company that organises their airport pickups and car handover, they had given me a manual. It was after 10pm, so when I tried calling Bargain rentals, i couldn’t get through. I was given a car another renter had dropped off. It was filthy, but that was the best solution.
